Having lived and worked in London for a fair few years I like to think I know London pretty well, so it’s always exciting when I discover a new area or venue and we are thrilled at Mighty Fine Entertainment to have been asked to be part of the preferred supplier team at Glaziers Hall in London Bridge.
London Bridge is an incredibly vibrant part of the city and Glaziers Hall is just a stone’s throw from the bustling Borough Market with a vast array of enticing food and produce and also very near to the cultural Southbank.
Glaziers Hall is just wonderful, oozing with history and is located on the south side of London Bridge. It was originally used by the Guild of Glaziers, The Worshipful Company of Glaziers and Painters of Glass, which dates back to medieval times and was also one of the Livery Companies of the City of London. The company is no longer a trade association of glass craftsman, instead they exist, as do many Livery Companies, as a charitable body. The original Glaziers Hall was burnt down during the Great Fire of London in 1666 and the current hall was refurbished in 1977.
When I first visited Glaziers I was immediately touched by its warmth and character and amazed at the versatility of each of the 5 spaces that they currently have available to hire out for events. The banqueting hall is perfect for larger events, then they have the Courtroom, London Bridge Room and the Library which would be lovely for a drinks reception. My favourite however is the River Room with the most incredible views over our wonderful River Thames. The room itself is modern with floor to wall windows enabling you to feel as though you were right on top of the water and it’s such a rare opportunity to be able to get that close to the Thames I found it absolutely fascinating and mesmerising.
We are all really excited to be working with the team at Glaziers Hall and are really looking forward to our next event in 2014!
